The School's extensive outreach programme reflects a commitment to sharing our resources with the local community and a strong belief in the benefit of educational partnerships. A unique feature of King's, it fosters an ethos of social awareness and respect for difference.
The programme has three main strands: the co-ordination of the Wimbledon Partnership, consisting of Coombe Girls' and Boys' Schools, Grey Court, the Ursuline, Ricards Lodge, Raynes Park High Schools and St Mark’s Academy, a broad range of reciprocal arrangements with the Coombe Schools, and an extensive programme of community projects with local schools and institutions in which most pupils participate at some stage in their school careers. King's also benefits from an overseas partnership with Fiwila School, Zambia.
Many members of King’s contribute to the programme, from governors to pupils in Year 10 and above. It is run by the Director of Partnerships and two assistants, a Leading Edge co-ordinator and over thirty-five members of staff. The unique depth of our involvement with local educational institutions, reinforced by the engagement of staff and pupils at all levels of the programme, makes King’s a leading player in the field of community partnerships.
