Levison Wood visits King's

9th February 2017

Yesterday, the fourth form were treated to an entertaining question and answer session with the explorer Levison Wood who generously took time out to visit King’s ahead of his busy theatre tour, promoting his latest book, “Walking the Americas”. Every fourth form boy is reading “Walking the Nile”, an account of one of Levison’s earlier journeys and they were thrilled to be able to put their questions about the book directly to the man himself. From his route into exploration, to how he obtained food along the route and what the scariest moment was, Levison gave us a taste of his journey and provided advice for those looking to undertake similar journeys in the future.

The initiative was a joint enterprise between the Geography department and the King’s Exploration Society, which aims to promote the art and practice of exploration.
